Health Education Workshops in Schools
Age-appropriate, interactive sessions on the science, prevention, and stigma around TB and HIV.
Adolescents are often left out of critical conversations on Tuberculosis (TB) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), despite being at an age where early knowledge can significantly impact lifelong health behaviours. Lack of age-appropriate education, stigma, and silence around these diseases create an environment where misinformation thrives — putting young lives at risk.
Ladli Foundation's initiative is a school-based awareness and sensitisation programme designed to educate adolescents about TB and HIV prevention, symptoms, and the importance of empathy and non-discrimination. The goal is to build a generation that is not just health-aware, but also health-empathetic.

The structural and cultural barriers that keep adolescents vulnerable.
Students often grow up with limited or incorrect information about TB and HIV transmission.
Affected individuals, or those with family members suffering from TB/HIV, face bullying and exclusion.
Students and teachers may miss early signs of TB, leading to untreated and contagious cases.
In many schools, HIV is never discussed due to cultural taboos, leaving adolescents unprepared.
No clear path exists for students showing symptoms to access government screening and treatment.
Every contribution funds direct interventions in schools across the region.
Age-appropriate, interactive sessions on the science, prevention, and stigma around TB and HIV.
Train selected students and teachers as peer educators to promote awareness and act as health mentors.
Posters, comic books, videos, and digital content in local languages tailored to adolescent minds.
Build linkages with local health departments for early testing and treatment when needed.
Conduct sessions to build support systems at home and in classrooms for affected students.
Ladli Foundation believes that young people are not only beneficiaries of change but also powerful leaders of social transformation. This belief is rooted in the lived experience of Founder Devendra Kumar, who was born and raised in the slums and witnessed firsthand how inequality, stigma, and lack of awareness affect vulnerable communities.
Guided by this vision, Ladli Foundation has built a nationwide youth movement of more than 1.5 lakh volunteers across India, mobilising adolescents and young leaders to address urgent public health and social challenges through awareness, participation, and community action.
Despite medical advancements, HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis (TB) continue to affect vulnerable communities due to stigma, misinformation, fear, and delayed diagnosis. Adolescents and young people often lack access to accurate information and safe spaces where they can openly discuss health, prevention, testing, and care.
In many communities, silence and social taboos continue to prevent early detection and timely treatment. Ladli Foundation is working to replace fear with awareness, stigma with dignity, and misinformation with informed health behaviour.
Ladli Foundation is implementing youth-led awareness initiatives in Africa focused on combating HIV/AIDS and TB through education, stigma reduction, community mobilisation, and early detection.
The initiative engages adolescents, school students, and youth leaders through interactive awareness sessions, peer discussions, IEC materials, and group conversations. These sessions create safe and supportive spaces where young people can learn, ask questions, and build confidence in making informed health decisions.
Key focus areas include:
To take awareness beyond classrooms, Ladli Foundation organises Walkathons, Marathons, awareness campaigns, and community engagement programmes led by youth and school students.
These public campaigns transform health education into a larger community movement, encouraging people to speak openly about HIV/AIDS and TB, challenge harmful taboos, and normalise conversations around prevention, testing, and treatment.
By reaching adolescents early, the Ladli Foundation is building a generation that is informed, compassionate, and health-conscious. The initiative not only addresses immediate awareness gaps but also promotes long-term behavioural change within schools, families, and communities.
Through grassroots action, youth leadership, and trusted community engagement, Ladli Foundation continues to work towards a future where awareness replaces fear, dignity replaces discrimination, and every young person has access to the knowledge needed to protect their health and well-being.
